Denis was born and educated in Rotorua. He started his working life with a government department specialising in risk management and audit where he also completed a business management qualification. His insurance career began in 1997 in a senior client servicing position with AA Insurance, where he became the Branch Manager. He later moved into commercial insurance and broker account management as the Rotorua Manager for Royal & Sun Alliance. Denis joined Dawson Insurance Brokers in 2001 as an executive broker and went on to take up a shareholding and directorship when Ian Dawson retired. Denis became the Managing Director of Dawson Insurance in 2016.

Rob Harvey

Rob was born and educated in Rotorua and began his insurance career with the local State Insurance Branch in 1971. After travelling overseas for three years where he worked extensively in the insurance industry, Rob returned to New Zealand working in General Accident Insurance. Rob joined Dawson Insurance Brokers in 1986 and was the Managing Director of the company for over fifteen years before stepping down from this role in 2016. Much of Dawson’s success can be attributed to his hard work and the passion he has for the company and its clients. Rob maintains a shareholding in the company and is an active Board member.

Peter began his insurance career in Rotorua with National Insurance in 1982. In 1989 he travelled overseas for 5 years and worked in the insurance industry in London during this time. He returned and worked for Tower Insurance then moved to become the Rotorua Manager for Royal & Sun Alliance/Vero Insurance. Peter joined Dawson Insurance in 2003 as a Broker prior to becoming a Shareholder and Director in 2008.

Di-Anne joined Dawson Insurance Brokers Rotorua in July 2011 and became a Director and Shareholder in the Company in October 2015. Di-Anne began her career in insurance with NZI in 1994 commencing as a Customer Services Officer in Rotorua and working her way through to a Senior Account Manager role in Tauranga. Di-Anne has more than 20 years insurance experience.

John has resided in Rotorua since 1960 and began his insurance career with National Insurance in 1971. After travelling overseas, John returned to National in a senior client servicing position before joining with company founder Ian Dawson at Dawson Insurance Brokers in 1983. John has played a significant role in the growth, development and ultimately the success of Dawson’s since 1983, and was a Director and shareholder for over twenty five years. John continues to provide broker services to his large and loyal client base today.

Daniel started his career in Insurance as a customer services representative for State Insurance, Palmerston North in 1994. He went on to hold various Sales, Underwriting and Management Roles within the IAG Group for a further 17 years before joining a NZ Based Lloyds Underwriting Agency specialising in insurance solutions for Heavy Machinery, Commercial Motor Vehicle and Liability programs.
Daniel brings a wealth of technical insurance experience to Dawson’s and a real desire to deliver value for our clients.

Graeme Bryant

Graeme commenced his insurance career with NZI Palmerston North in 1974 before moving to Tokoroa in 1982 and then to Whakatane in 1985. In 1987 Graeme moved into the Broking side of the insurance business and purchased the Whakatane office of Dawson Insurance in 1989. After 30 years the decision was made to merge the Whakatane and Rotorua offices of Dawson Insurance, Graeme will continue as a Director / Broker and is looking forward to working with the Rotorua team. Out of work Graeme enjoys family life, hot rodding, fishing, travel and bonsai.

Cam began working at Dawson Insurance Brokers Whakatane in 2008.
Over the years Cam has worked his way through the office, handling claims, admin and the domestic portfolio and then moved into the field of Commercial Insurance.
Cam’s goal is to a provide advice and support to clients during the whole insurance process. Being a practical “hands on computer” person, Cam also supports the Whakatane Team with IT issues.

Rachel moved to the idyllic Eastern Bay of Plenty in 2008 with her young family and began her insurance career at Dawson Insurance Whakatane in 2010. After spending 10 years working on commercial fishing trawlers, Rachel has the ability to relate in a positive way to everyone she meets.
She loves working with people and enjoys the challenge of doing the best for her clients by helping them to understand their policies and making the whole ‘dreaded’ insurance process as easy as possible. Rachel looks after the domestic portfolio at Whakatane.
In her spare time, Rachel is kept busy with her family and enjoys running, mountain biking, sun worshiping and recreational fishing.
