Planning a busy summer?

If you’re taking on more work, expanding your team, or gearing up your vehicles and equipment, make sure your policy reflects what’s actually happening in your business.

• Review your liability limits and business interruption settings
• Add new tools, plant, or vehicles to your policy
• Update driver lists or vehicle use if your team is growing
• Make sure you’re covered for any new work types or locations

 

Even small changes can affect how a claim is assessed.

 

For homeowners

Heading away over the holidays?

This is a good time to double-check what your policy says about unoccupied homes. If your place will be empty for more than a few weeks, there may be certain conditions to be aware of.

Also:

• Update your contents insurance if you’ve made big purchases recently
• Store receipts or photos for new items—this can make claims much easier
• Check your policy for cover on seasonal items like e-bikes, paddleboards, or trailers
• Are you using your home differently, possibly renting a portion (whether formally, like Airbnb, or informally, like short-term lodgers, or exchange students)? You’ll need to notify your insurer as it could affect your cover.

 

For holiday home owners

Make sure your policy reflects how your bach or holiday home is actually being used. Cover can vary depending on whether the property is used privately, by friends and family, or short-term rented.
